PROJECT MANAGER – PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT

 

Minimum Starting Salary Range:   $56,483.00.00 to $65,503.00

DUTIES:
This is highly responsible technical and managerial work for the daily activities of the Public Works Department which include storm water management, sanitation and recycling center.  Daily duties involve, but are not limited to, organizing, planning and inspecting municipal drainage projects, outsourced or in house, renovation and repair of street and roads maintenance, municipal buildings and grounds maintenance.  Assist the Maintenance Manager in supervision of employees to ensure that pending projects are completed in a timely manner and outsourced projects based on specifications provided by any engineered plans and Public Works Director.  Work is performed under the general supervision of the Director of Public Works.


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Candidates with a minimum of two (2) years of experience in a municipal public works department or Stormwater management or other related experience preferred. Basic skill and/or experience with Microsoft Office programs.  Any equivalent combination of education and experience may be acceptable.  Qualified applicants will have the ability to work in a variety of weather conditions.  They also will possess the ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 100 lbs.) and bend, squat, twist, crawl and climb on a daily basis. Incumbents must be able to operate assigned equipment in a safe and efficient manner and possess a valid Georgia Driver's license with a good motor vehicle record.

ADMINISTRATIVE MAINTENANCE WORKER – ADMINISTRATION DEPARTMENT

 

Minimum Starting Salary Range:   $36,599.00 to $42,444.00

DUTIES:
This is semi-skilled manual work performing basic building maintenance for the City Center Complex buildings, completing room setups for events at City Hall, doing basic building and grounds maintenance, including cleaning parking lots, inventory tracking of janitorial and building supplies, collection and drop off of weekly recycling, coordinating and tracking of annual maintenance performed on equipment and systems.  You will act as the daily courier which involves making bank deposits and delivering interoffice mail between departments. Work can also involve heavy manual tasks that may require the use of power tools and operation of light equipment. All other duties as assigned.  Assignments will be carried out under the direct supervision of the Administrative Manager in the Administration Department.

PART-TIME RECREATION WORKER – PARKS & RECREATION DEPARTMENT

 

Minimum Starting Salary:   $16.00 per hour

DUTIES:
This is responsible and professional part-time work in assisting Park staff in planning, organizing and supervising a wide variety of recreational, athletic programming and special events.  Assists in daily functions of department at any Snellville Parks & Recreation facility, which will include greeting patrons, answering phones, monitoring members, and other various clerical duties. Direction is provided by the Program Coordinator, Director of Recreation and Parks, or Deputy Director.  Incumbent must exercise personal judgment and discretion in executing duties based on established policies, procedures and schedules.  Evening and weekend shifts may be required. 


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
High School diploma or equivalent.  Prefer at least two (2) years’ experience in performing duties related to recreational programming and general park operations. Any equivalent combination of training, education and/or experience in Parks & Recreation and/or athletic profession may be acceptable.  Must possess a valid Georgia driver’s license (Class C) at time of employment.  Red Cross certifications in First Aid and CPR preferred.

DUTIES:

This is general law enforcement work responsible for protecting life and property and enforcing laws and ordinances.  Work involves routine patrol in assigned area, responding to emergency calls, alarms and citizen complaints.  Duties include traffic enforcement, assignments, preliminary investigations and other related work.  An officer of higher ranks reviews work assignments.  Work requires independent judgment and discretion in difficult or unusual situations.  Work involves an element of personal danger.  Work is performed under the general supervision of a police Corporal.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Must be twenty-one (21) years of age or older,
  • High School diploma or equivalent, and
  • Possess a valid Georgia Driver’s License.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Advanced Degree (Associate’s Degree or higher)
  • Georgia Basic Peace Officer Certification

The application process will consist of an application review, oral interview, a comprehensive background investigation to include an evaluation of prior education and work experience, a criminal history review and a credit history review.  Candidates who successfully complete the background investigation may be given a conditional job offer.  A final offer of employment would then be dependent upon the candidate’s successful completion of pre-employment testing which includes a physical assessment, drug screen, polygraph and psychological exam.
